Sky is everywhere; it begins at your feet and goes beyond imagination. However, in order to achieve these limitless qualities one needs a unique perspective and medium. I am Aakash Moghariya, born in a small village in Western India. In Indian language, Aakash means sky. My unique perspective is to expertise in data science and machine learning.
I specialize in Java, C++ and Python. I have over 2 year of experince as software developer engineer by means of two fulltime position and internships. Additionally, I have been actively involved in various interesting projects such as a search engine team and a web development club during my college life. In total, I have around 7 years of programming experience and I really love to derive an efficient algorithmic solution to challenging computer problems.
I am a quick learner and very enthusiastic to learn new technologies. I am extremely interested in data science, machine learning, data mining and cloud computing. To pursue my interest, I have recently joined Master's program in Big Data at SFU. At SFU, I learned essential tools and techonolgies used by a data science on daily basis.
Recently I started my internship at BuildDirect as a Data Scientist. And I am actively seeking for a full time position as a Data Scientist or as a Machine Learning Engineer. - Implemented neural network based (faster RCNN) model to detect and label furniture items present in an image to help customers find and explore items easily on the website.
- Built an alternative model for recommending optimal price to sellers to maximize revenues and profit margins using pyspark. Performed extensive analysis on determining flaws and enhancement possibilities in existing pricing model. Using past data proved that model recommends prices improves revenues.
- Automated Demand Forecasting predictive model and optimized it to improve time complexity of existing model using pyspark. Increased speed of model by factor 83 times compared to existing model.
- Created a billing system for newly introduced insurance product using Java to expand business of the company and gain competitive advantage in the market.
- Migrated database platform from Sybase to Microsoft SQL by modifying hibernate queries to support SQL queries in order to standardize the application platform across the system and to reduce license cost.
- Developed a service that allow F5 V10 devices (Load Balancers) to accept and execute requests concurrently by implementing partition based system.
- Created ErrorChecker module for checking error messages to test the modules optimally and accurately using Java and jUnit.
- Developed distributed scrapping system to extract product data concurrently from online retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Forever21 and Home Depot using Python for comparing product prices in order to enhance shopping experience of customers.
- Created SmartDeal application using Google Map JavaScript API to illustrate ongoing deals for a product in a given range of distance.
